COVID -19 Temporary Closure

Peotone Park District is following Illinois Governors executive order for the stay at home to be extended until April 30, 2020. This means the playgrounds are closed and groups are not to congregate on the courts, fields or pavilions in the Park. Signs will be posted in areas and if groups are found, they will be asked to leave and go to their homes.

This is a hard decision to make as we realize that children and young adults don't understand why they are being asked to leave. We are relying on parents and the adults in their lives to keep their safety and the safety of others as a priority. With spring weather coming, it may seem natural to go to the Park for a game or to gather with friends. This cannot happen for everyone's safety and we will take measures needed to comply with the Governors orders.

We look forward to the warmer weather and seeing people enjoy the Park grounds as they were intended once this order is lifted. We are all in this together and remain dedicated to the community and their safety.

Our walking trails are open to enjoy. We please ask that you don't congregate, and ONLY walk with those healthy in your own household. Keep your 6' distance between others enjoying the trails.
We don't want to close trails, but if rules are not followed we will be forced to.

Please be stay safe, stay healthy and stay at home.
